“Oh No! I have to choose my major!  I have to pick classes!  I don’t have a clue what I want to declare as my major and what is worse; I don’t know how to begin to choose. Is there any help out there for someone like me?”

Choosing a major or even classes as a freshman is very stressful and for a good reason. There is a lot riding on that decision. Course class choices need to be made and of course the need for a job when you get out of college. Parents worry about the cost of tuition and the realities of the new economy. Take a deep breath. There is a way to make a more informed decision – so don’t guess anymore.

Learning objectives:

At the end of this workshop the participants will be able to:

  • Define their strengths, talents, gifts and abilities based on their personality – not guess work
  • Learn and practice effective decision making skills
  • Learn how to narrow the range of college majors based on their strengths and interests – not from hand me down dreams or what they see on TV
  • Create a personalized plan to evaluate their choices and make the decision
  • Receive a follow up coaching session with a certified coach to be sure they are on track and have met their goals

What to expect when you get there

The workshop is interactive and fun! You will learn about yourself and be able to tell others about yourself and your interests. There will be an opportunity to practice your new found skills and hear from others who have been in your shoes. You don’t want to miss this opportunity to learn how to choose your major!

Who could benefit

This workshop is tailored to high school seniors, college sophomores or freshmen who need to decide on a major in order that they can choose the appropriate courses and get on the right track. Declaring a major or just going to college can cause a great deal of stress for high school seniors, college freshmen and sophomores. This experience will provide these students the tools to go through the decision process and end up with a well thought-out result.

Who is Go 2 the Peak?

Go 2 the Peak was founded by Amy Ramsey who is passionate about helping college students know more about themselves and how to make more informed decisions. Go 2 the Peak is a company whose goal it is to help you make the most of this time during college and begin this trip with a map that will make some of the decisions more meaningful and peaceful.

I am a certified life coach and an experienced mentor. Do you know all those questions swirling around your brain right now about life, education, and career? Well, I help you sort those out and come to better decisions.
Together we discover your personality traits and then learn how that affects the way you view life and make decisions. Learning is a lifelong process and one that should be enjoyed every step of the journey. Being a student is very rewarding when the subject matter matches your strengths, talents, aptitudes, and giftedness. It answers the “Why am I doing this?” question.

My passion has always been helping others reach the peak of their performance whether it was in business or in their personal life. I have found myself saying over the years that I wish I knew then what I know now! My goal is to help you reach your peak sooner rather than later!

I live in the suburbs of Charlotte, North Carolina with my husband and my Generation “Y” son! As a parent, I understand where parents come from as they think about the future of a child.
